Spy Toads are variant enemies of the Toads who guard the Dark Teensy's underwater bases in 20,000 Lums Under the Sea. They make a return along with the other variant of Toads in Rayman Adventures.

Unlike the Toads in Toad Story that act brute and are more brash, Spy Toads are much more organized. They carry an electric rifle with them in order to shoot the heroes when they spot them. Spy Toads can ambush the player during some sequences in certain levels. They can either climb walls and jump out to attack or they can jump from the foreground or background into the layer where the player is residing in. Some Spy Toads can also surprise the player by dropping via hanging from a cable and shooting them. Other Spy Toads have jetpacks equipped and shooting the player in mid-air. Like most of the enemies, Spy Toads can be defeated with one hit.

Appearance

Like other Toads, Spy Toads share the appearance as normal Toads in terms of physical traits except for the face paint and their five o'clock shadow. In term of clothing, Spy Toads' outfits are based on Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell games. They wear night vision goggles, black skin-tight suits, and utility belts. Their rifles are sleek black and have a red light.
