An early version of a Lavomatrix

Lavomatrixes, also known as Agitators and Lavicrafts[2], are old washing machines piloted by Hoodlum housewives, which always attack in pairs. They will attack by either shooting explosive projectiles at Rayman or one will lift him up and move him towards the other Lavomatrix's flamethrowers. They are larger than the Hoodstormers and are much more powerful and tough. The first pair were found in the Desert of the Knaaren.

The washing machines the Lavomatrixes are based on are heavily modified: while they are attached to rotors which allow them to fly, a pair of cannons have also been added to each, as well as a series of spikes around their bases.

A notable glitch, induced by a programming error, can be the source of multiple incoherences in the way the damage inflicted to Lavomatrixes is dealt with. Amongst each pair, there is always one Lavomatrix, which, after being hit, overwrites the other's life status with its own. This allows the other Lavomatrix to be defeated in only one hit, after inflicting the first one eight damage and then punching the second one, but also to take up to thirty-seven damage by hitting the second one eight times and the first one once, then repeating the process with a decrease of one in the number of hits taken by the second one, until only one hit is enough to defeat it. Upon defeating a Lavomatrix, when it reaches less than half its health bar, its life status will overwrite the other one's, which means that the damage beyond its health will be taken by the other one.

Notes

  1. The exact resistance of a Lavomatrix is 8.75 hit points.
  2. The name comes from the official strategy guide of Rayman 3.
