Darkroots, also known simply as Roots, are invincible enemies in Rayman Origins. They, along with a group of nightmarish Darktoons and Psychlops are sent by a Granny from the Land of the Livid Dead to invade the Glade of Dreams. They are dark blue tentacle-like creatures, with tons of spikes and non-blinking eyes. They appear from nowhere, constantly growing and working as obstacles for Rayman and his friends.

They appear to be based on Nettles, other root-like enemies from the Rayman series.
