Boss Chenille (Kapounus Grobilus) is a boss which appears only in Rayman Revolution, where it is fought beneath the Lava Sanctuary.

Description
Boss Chenille looks just like a normal caterpillar, but with some significant differences: whereas they are a purplish-black in colour, Boss Chenille is blood-red; Boss Chenille is also somewhat larger, and it eyes are identical to the baby caterpillars' ones.
Boss Chenille is found in a room in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava (whose name is switched with that of Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava in this version). Boss Chenille is summoned by Rayman performing a rain dance on what looks like a greyish version of one of the Magic Spheres' bases. When this is done, it emits a beam of light towards another such base. When Rayman shoots it, it too emits a beam of light towards another base. After shooting several more bases, the beam of light has finished its circumnavigation of the chamber; a door opens, and Boss Chenille enters. The first clue as to Boss Chenille's identity is its name; Chenille is the French word for Caterpillar, while the name Boss implies that it may possibly be their leader. Boss Chenille looks just like one of the large caterpillars, but with some significant differences: whereas they are a purplish-black in colour, Boss Chenille is blood-red; Boss Chenille is also somewhat larger. When Rayman strikes Boss Chenille with his magic fist, its health meter decreases, and a caterpillar splits away from its body. Boss Chenille spawns both small and large caterpillars in this fashion; these too must all be defeated in order to fully deplete Boss Chenille's health. As the battle wears on, the segments of Boss Chenille's body slowly disappear; by the end, it resembles an enormous red version of one of the small caterpillars. When this final form is defeated, Boss Chenille vanishes like any other caterpillar. A rockfall then occurs and Red Lums appear where the bases stood.

The manner in which Boss Chenille spawns normal caterpillars from its body during the battle has led to speculation that it may be the progenitor or 'mother' of the entire caterpillar species, in addition to the speculation that it is their leader. However, even after Boss Chenille is defeated, both varieties of caterpillars still appear.

When Rayman strikes Boss Chenille with his magic fist, a red baby caterpillar splits away from its body. When the hero shoots it, it splits into five black baby caterpillars. When they are killed, Boss Chenille's health meter decreases. It is unknown why Boss Chenille appears in this particular level, but it is possible that it serves as a guardian to the entrance of the Sanctuary. It is possible that Admiral Razorbeard may have cut a deal with these creatures to stop Rayman from proceeding to the Third Mask. It could also be possible that Boss Chenille has made a home in the Sanctuary and is simply defending its territory.

Origin and race
Boss Chenille also makes an appearance as a minor enemy in the Ray-Type Challenge, the last of Ly's minigames. In this challenge, Boss Chenille's body is composed of fifteen segments, and it rotates in a circular pattern. Each segment must be shot repeatedly by Rayman's flying shell in order to destroy it; a single destroyed segment yields 50 points, while defeating an entire Boss Chenille yields an additional bonus of 1,500 points. There is no limit to the amount of Boss Chenilles that can be encountered in this minigame.
Boss Chenille's purpose, apart from attacking Rayman at the entrance to the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, remains unknown. Boss Chenille is a character that only appears once and no information about it can be found. Some suggest that Boss Chenille is the leader or mother of the caterpillars, considering its outstanding appearance and strength. Some consider it possible that Chenille and the caterpillars originated as one of Polokus's nightmares in the Cave of Bad Dreams.

The first clue as to Boss Chenille's identity is its name; Chenille is the French word for Caterpillar, while the name Boss implies that it may possibly be a leader. And during the battle, Boss Chenille spawns baby caterpillars from its body. All of this led to speculation that Boss Chenille may be the progenitor or ‘mother’ of the caterpillar species, in addition to the speculation that it is their leader.

Boss Chenille (Kapounus Grobilus) is a boss which appears only in Rayman Revolution, where it is fought beneath the Lava Sanctuary.

Boss Chenille looks just like a normal caterpillar, but with some significant differences: whereas they are a purplish-black in colour, Boss Chenille is blood-red; Boss Chenille is also somewhat larger, and it eyes are identical to the baby caterpillars' ones.

Boss Chenille is found in a room beneath the Lava Sanctuary. It is summoned by Rayman performing a Rain Dance on what looks like a greyish version of one of the Magic Spheres' bases. When this is done, it emits a beam of light towards another such base. When Rayman shoots it, it too emits a beam of light towards another base. After shooting several more bases, the beam of light has finished its circumnavigation of the chamber; a door opens, and Boss Chenille enters.

When Rayman strikes Boss Chenille with his magic fist, a red baby caterpillar splits away from its body. When the hero shoots it, it splits into five black baby caterpillars. When they are killed, Boss Chenille's health meter decreases. As the battle wears on, the segments of Boss Chenille's body slowly disappear; by the end, it resembles an enormous red version of one of the baby caterpillars. When this final form is defeated, Boss Chenille vanishes for good. A rockfall then occurs, the door Boss Chenille came in by opens, and Red Lums appear where the bases stood.
