Anglerfish are enemies found in Rayman Origins, the Back to Origins levels of Rayman Legends and, in a modified form, in Rayman Mini.

Description

Anglerfish are orange fish with long teeth and spiny fins. They also sport a modified luminescent fin ray, with the exception of those found in Rayman Mini, for which it is missing.

Rayman Origins

In Rayman Origins, anglerfish appear in the Sea of Serendipity and the Angsty Abyss. The light coming out of their modified fin rays serves as protection from tentacle claws, as light causes them to back off. Despite their helpful feature that makes them similar to the luminous fish, they are still harmful enemies, and shouldn't be touched by Rayman or his friends. While their spikes and fangs make them physically invincible to regular contact, they can be bubblized by several giant mosquito shots; however, doing this will cause their light to turn off, attracting the tentacle claws.

Rayman Legends

In Rayman Legends, anglerfish only appear in the Back to Origins levels.

Rayman Mini

In Rayman Mini, regular-sized anglerfish without a modified luminescent fin ray appear in Gone Fishing, the final level of the River Stream, where they act as a boss and chase Rayman along the river. They later reappear in Extreme Fishing, the first level of the Bonus world, and in Tropical Punch, the music level set in the River Stream and introduced in version 1.3.0.
