[[Globox]] is being held prisoner in the area, but first, [[Rayman]] will have to defeat a [[red Henchman 800]], and then flick the switch that opens the gate. [[Globox]] will then follow his limbless friend, provided that there are no [[pirate]]s around. They both have to go through a passage that is blocked by laser bars, but [[Globox]] uses his Rain Dance to deactivate it. This leads to some cliff sides with gaps neither of the can cross, so [[Globox]] waters a glowing plant to make a flower appear. [[Rayman]] stands on this to cross the cap, then shoots at a wooden [[sparadrap]] which breaks a wooden pole down for [[Globox]] to walk on. Then, they come across a huge fire, which [[Globox]] gladly puts out.

Down the passage, another [[red Henchman 800]] appears, and [[Globox]] runs away to hide in a cubbyhole. When [[Rayman]] defeats it, he walks back to his friend to reassure him that there is no shame of being afraid of the [[pirate]]s and the [[warship]]s, and then wishes he has more powers. This triggers [[Globox]]'s memory, and he gives [[Rayman]] a [[Silver Lum]], which upgrades his [[magic fist]] - he can now charge up his shots which will make them more powerful.

Down that passage, where another [[red Henchman 800]] appears, there is a small stronghold which is being guarded by a security camera of a sort. The only thing left to use is a small bush, which [[Globox]] grows it big enough for [[Rayman]] to hide in it, and when he gets to the door, the security deactivates the door. At the exit, [[Globox]] confirms that he cannot continue adventuring with his limbless friend, and wants to see his wife, [[Uglette]].

Revision as of 03:58, 16 May 2018

The Canopy is a level in Rayman 2 and its remakes. In all versions of the game, it is where Rayman meets Globox for the second time in the game, and the power of his magic fist is upgraded by a Silver Lum. In all versions except Rayman Revolution, it is the ninth level in the game.

The Canopy shares its name with another level in Rayman Rush, but the two are distinctly separate.

Original version

The Spiral Door in the Hall of Doors which takes Rayman to the Canopy.

Phase 1

This area is a chasm full of cobwebs, that appears to be the inside of a giant tree. Before long, Rayman is being stalked by a giant spider. This creature can be defeated, but it is not compulsory. Rayman must climb up the cobwebs to evade the spider, find the two cages and collect the Yellow Lums there, before dropping down a pit and into the next area.

Phase 2

Globox is being held prisoner in the area, but first, Rayman will have to defeat a red Henchman 800, and then flick the switch that opens the gate. Globox will then follow his limbless friend, provided that there are no pirates around. They both have to go through a passage that is blocked by laser bars, but Globox uses his Rain Dance to deactivate it. This leads to some cliff sides with gaps neither of the can cross, so Globox waters a glowing plant to make a flower appear. Rayman stands on this to cross the cap, then shoots at a wooden sparadrap which breaks a wooden pole down for Globox to walk on. Then, they come across a huge fire, which Globox gladly puts out.

Down the passage, another red Henchman 800 appears, and Globox runs away to hide in a cubbyhole. When Rayman defeats it, he walks back to his friend to reassure him that there is no shame of being afraid of the pirates and the warships, and then wishes he has more powers. This triggers Globox's memory, and he gives Rayman a Silver Lum, which upgrades his magic fist - he can now charge up his shots which will make them more powerful.

Phase 3

Rayman and Globox come out into the open, but a warship appears, sending Globox into hiding again. Out comes a tougher red Henchman 800, and once it is defeated, the pair move on, shutting down laser barriers with the Rain Dance. Down that passage, where another red Henchman 800 appears, there is a small stronghold which is being guarded by a security camera of a sort. The only thing left to use is a small bush, which Globox grows it big enough for Rayman to hide in it, and when he gets to the door, the security deactivates the door. At the exit, Globox confirms that he cannot continue adventuring with his limbless friend, and wants to see his wife, Uglette.

The Canopy in Rayman Revolution stays fairly the same as that in previous versions. Trivia

  • It is possible to smash the cage behind the locked door and open the portal before actually unlocking it.
  • Before the level even starts, Rayman must find a walking shell and ride it to the entrance, which has been blocked by falling stones.
  • A glitch is possible at the start. Rayman needs to jump on the walking shell and ride around, heading back to the East Plain. Rayman will automatically jump off.
