Purple Henchman 800

Purple Henchmen 800 are a variety of Henchman 800 found in all versions of Rayman 2. They are the lowest rank of Henchman 800 in the original and Dreamcast versions, and the second to lowest rank in the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 versions.

Description

Purple Henchman 800 are one of the more common types of Henchman 800, they wear purple vests and pants with purple and mauve stripes. Like most Henchman 800 models, their visible eye is green. Their hooks are coloured gold, similar to the colouration of hooks used by Ninja Henchmen.

Original and Dreamcast versions

In the original and Dreamcast versions of Rayman 2, the purple colour represents the lowest rank of Henchman 800, below red. They exist in two types, a weak version taking three shots to defeat, and a strong version taking six shots – the latter being technically identical to the weak version of red Henchman 800. They shoot regular energy projectiles, but the stronger ones occasionally shoot helicopter bombs in the Dreamcast version. They appear in most levels in the game. In low-light, purple Henchmen 800 can appear blue, and those have occasionally been considered a different type.

PlayStation version

In the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, the purple colour represents the second-lowest rank of Henchman 800, above red and below green and grey-brown. They shoot regular energy projectiles, always three in a row, and take six shots to defeat. Four of them are be found in the whole game.

In Rayman Revolution, the purple colour represents the second-lowest rank of Henchman 800, above green and below yellow and red. They shoot large energy projectiles, except for one in the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire which shoots regular energy projectiles, and take six white shots or two blue shots to defeat. They also attack Rayman with their hooks when he is very close. They appear in almost every level in the game.
