Only two red Henchman 800 appear. Both act as the bosses: one is fought in the Precipice, the other in the Tomb of the Ancients (the final level in this version). Their resistance is much higher than that of any Henchman 800 in the original version. The two fights are carried out in an identical fashion. Apart from their high resistance, these pirates bear some minor differences from standard ones: their energy projectiles are green, and they can transform their legs (rather than one of their arms) into drills, giving them a resemblance to a jackhammer. No other Robo-Pirates are encountered in Rayman 2 Forever; although dialogue and intertitles indicate that Rayman's goal is to defeat Admiral Razorbeard, the defeat of the red Henchman in Tomb of the Ancients is treated as a decisive victory by the characters.

They have low defensive capabilities, being able to be destroyed with two punches, they will either fall forwards or backwards when defeated and explode, depending on where the final strike is made.

Red Henchmen 800, also known as Red Rum, are a variety of Henchman 800 found in all versions of Rayman 2. They are the highest rank of Henchman 800 in all versions but the PlayStation version, in which they are the lowest rank.

Two red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Admiral Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version, and two of them also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. The red version of Henchman 800 is a playable character in all versions of Rayman M.

They exist in two types, a weak version taking six shots to defeat, and a strong version taking nine shots. The weak type, technically identical to the strong version of purple Henchman 800, fires regular energy projectiles, except for one in the Iron Mountains and another in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava – the latter being exclusive to the Dreamcast version, which fire large energy projectiles. The strong type fires large energy projectiles, except for one in the Iron Mountains which fires helicopter bombs in the Dreamcast version. Two exceptional types can also be found in the game: the red Henchman 800 standing in a rowing boat in the Marshes of Awakening, which takes five shots to defeat and fires regular energy projectiles, and the one throwing kegs from the external part of a stronghold in the Tomb of the Ancients, which takes only one shot to defeat.

In Rayman Revolution, the red colour represents the highest rank of Henchman 800, above green, purple and yellow. They fire homing missiles which look like miniature brown versions of those used by the Grolgoth in the PlayStation version of the game. Those missiles follow a curved trajectory and can be destroyed by Rayman's shots, constituting on the other hand an additional protection for the pirate, and making it notably harder to use charged shots. They take six yellow shots to defeat and mostly appear in the late levels of the game.

Rayman fighting a red Henchman 800

In the Game Boy Color version of Rayman 2, only two red Henchman 800 appear.

A robot pirate's life is simple: be best, waste others, beat them to a pulp if necessary, have no mercy...
—Manual, Rayman M

A particular red Henchman 800 is one of the five playable characters that are initially available in Rayman M and Rayman Arena. He looks like the other red Henchmen, apart from the fact that he has a built-in jet pack, which he uses to glide.

The manual for the GameCube and Xbox versions of Rayman Arena, the North American localisation of Rayman M, offers the following description of the Henchman 800:

Profession: Small-Time Bad Guy.

Likes: Terrorizing the weak, drinking drain oil with his robots pals, and causing chaos.
Dislikes: Ending up as spare parts, Dark Globox's games, and Razorbeard's punishments.

Address: At the local bar in the port, amidst the singing and smoke.

Red Henchmen 800 appear in the trailer for the cancelled 2000 Rayman Adventures game, behaving the same way that they did in Rayman 2. Interestingly, they seem to be able to speak in this game.

In the original version of Rayman 3, inanimate red Henchmen appear alongside Gorilla Pirates, Spyglass Pirates and Razorbeard in a cameo appearance in the Hoodlum Headquarters. They can be found in the third level via a hidden passage inside some machinery, they are set up in a manner evocative of The Last Supper, by Leonardo da Vinci.

Red Henchman 800 make an appearance in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3, but are the weakest iteration of Henchman 800, less powerful than the blue, grey and green models.

They shoot yellow projectiles to attack Rayman, akin to many other models of Henchman 800. Unlike some of the other varieties of Henchman 800, this variety will actively patrol the platform they are situated on, and will even advance toward Rayman in combat, should he back away. They have low defensive capabilities, being able to be destroyed with two punches, they will either fall forwards or backwards when defeated and explode, depending on where the final strike is made.

Red Henchman 800 also appear in some of the cutscenes within the game, with an identical appearance to their Rayman 2 counterparts. However, in-game, their visible eye is coloured red, instead of green.

In Rayman in the Phantom Show

While red Henchmen 800 do not appear in Rayman in the Phantom Show, the third DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, cardboard cutouts of one, Razorbeard and the Spyglass Pirate can be found on the Pirate Set.
