Grunderbite, also known as the Medieval Dragon, is a boss in Rayman Legends, its remake, and Rayman: The Board Game. She is a large dragon with many claws and fins. She attacks Rayman and friends once spotting them. Once defeated, she tries to fly away before falling into the fiery abyss.

Appearance

Grunderbite is a large, brown version of the forest dragons encountered in Teensies In Trouble, with a few minor differences, such as fins added to her back, the sides of her face and to her chin. She also has huge, tattered wings, and four comparatively tiny limbs. During the last phase of the battle, her eyes turn red, and she gets increasingly more beat up.

Grunderbite appears in the fighting game Brawlhalla, where she is called the Medieval Dragon, as a Knockout Effect—a special animation that plays when an opponent is knocked off of the realm. It costs 240 Mammoth Coins to be usable in online matchmaking.

Hungry Dragon

Grunderbite also appears as an unlockable character in version 4.6 of the mobile game Hungry Dragon, where her name is revealed (she was previously only known as the Medieval Dragon). She was teased on October 25, 2022 and revealed on November 1, 2022.

Grunderbite requires either 4,000,000 coins or 550 gems to unlock. By leveling up, players can also unlock three skins for Grunderbite: a bright green skin (named Greenbite) at the cost of 1,800,000 coins, a molten lava skin (named Magmabite) at the cost of 75 gems, and a Rabbid-based skin (named Bwaahbite) at the cost of 80 gems.

Rayman in the Phantom Show

In Rayman in the Phantom Show, the third DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Grunderbite makes a cameo appearance in the Medieval Set as an animatronic. The helmet worn by the Giant Flamin' Stooge in the battle The Dragon That Wasn't is also modeled after this animatronic.

Rayman: The Board Game

Grunderbite is set to appear in Rayman: The Board Game as a Level 3 boss. Currently, only one Special Attack card has been unveiled, and her Boss card and other Special Attack cards have yet to be revealed.

Rayman Legends Retold

Speaking of dragons, Grunderbite is the Guardian of the Old Teensie Kingdom, yet something has caused protector to turn tormentor. She has been corrupted, and the realm is not safe until she can be brought to her senses. It is of grave importance you do so.

Grunderbite appears more prominently in Rayman Legends Retold, where her gender is revealed to be female. The Bubble Dreamer describes her as the "Guardian of the Old Teensie Kingdom." Unlike in the original, she has become corrupted and is being controlled by the game's new villain, as is signified by her glowing purple eyes and the purple cracks on her face.

Alongside reprising her role as the boss of the Old Teensie Kingdom, Grunderbite appears in the world's dragon-riding level, Imagine More Dragons. She can be seen flying at various intervals throughout the level, and at one point she blasts open a wall with her fire, allowing her and the heroes to pass through it.
