Murrays, sometimes known as Giant Eels, are aquatic and flying creatures from the Sea of Serendipity and the Angsty Abyss in Rayman Origins and 20,000 Lums Under the Sea in Rayman Legends. Despite their name, they appear as marine arthropods with a segmented body. They come in various sizes and colours.

A gigantic, blue Murray referred to as a Giant Eel watches over the passageway between the Gourmand Land and the Sea of Serendipity. The heroes battle it in Aim for the Eel!, the last level of the Gourmand Lands. They encounter it as they fly across the sea on the back of their mosquito allies. In order to defeat it, its five segments must be successively destroyed by shooting at their rear part. Each segment also sports two light bulb-like protuberances which can be destroyed to yield more Lums.

Two more are found in Murray of the Deep, the last level of the Angsty Abyss, where they chase the heroes underwater until they reach the Shrimp king's nest. They cannot be fought, and have no side protuberances.

In Fire When Wetty and Scuba Shootout, the two mosquito levels of the Sea of Serendipity and the Angsty Abyss, smaller, pink Murrays are found. They are thinner, made of seven or ten segments, have spikes, and sport fins where their large counterparts have protuberances. Their head is also longer. They act as obstacles and cannot be defeated. In the Back to Origins section of Rayman Legends', all these Murrays are purple in colour and made of only seven segments.

Even smaller, though longer with twenty segments, pink Murrays are encountered in Beware of Mini-Murray, the penultimate level of the Angsty Abyss. While some of them act as obstacles and follow a predefined path, others chase the heroes. They cannot be defeated either.

In Gloo Gloo, the music level of 20,000 Lums Under the Sea in Rayman Legends, another type of Murray appears, identical to the pink ones though the size of the blue ones. Most of them attempt to chomp the heroes by quickly emerging from holes, and some chase them underwater. They cannot be fought.
