What follows is a list of every Rayman demo available and the content they include.
What follows is a list of every Rayman demo available and the content they include.

The list does not include developer builds (like prototypes) and unpublic demos (like press demos). Repeated names are in fact different demos.

(?) means that this disc includes an existing but unchecked demo.

:- 1 minute timer on every level.
** The world map is the same as from the Atari Jaguar beta version with an Electoon moving on the map. There is also a point on the giant, floating present, although it can't be accessed.
** In the files, Band Land is referred to as Chromatic Skies and Picture City as Image City—almost literal translations of the original French names Le Ciel Chromatique and La Cité des Images.
** Early loading screen images are used. The one for the Blue Mountains shows Mr Stone throwing the boulder at Rayman.
** Early sequenced music is used.
** When falling from high places Rayman will appear stunned.
** The lives counter displays a single digit.
** Rather than getting Electoon markers on a medallion upon breaking a cage the player now has to collect the Electoons from it with a separate counter being available for that, replacing the tings.
** The Big Powers use an incorrect palette for parts of their animation.

Hi folks!
Thanks for playing my demo ! But remember, you've only seen a very small part of the whole game.
If you want to finish the dream forest, scale the blue mountains, rock through band land, and take a peek at picture city ... not to mention getting the evil mr dark and his cronies in candy chateau... then get your hands on a copy of the full version of rayman.
It is available now at stores everywhere.

** Spellbound Forest (level exclusive to the Flash demo)
*Notable differences:
** The demo starts with a short tutorial, telling the player how to play and instructing them to free Rayman's friends, who are depicted as bats.
** The game features a unique Game Boy Color interface, with control instructions being provided to the player if they hover their mouse cursor over the buttons.
** The Flash demo takes place in a short unique level set in the Spellbound Forest where the player is tasked to rescue a friendly bat from a cage.
** The demo controls differently and Rayman starts with the helicopter power. Rayman's animations appear changed as well.
** The music is a short loop of the Spellbound Forest's music.
** Rayman starts with one extra life, but cannot get a game over even with no life left.
** Rayman can only take damage by falling from the vine or the tree, or by jumping into the tree while on the ground, which subtracts two hearts from his health. This damage can be prevented by pressing down while on the bottom of the vine.
** Rayman will retain his current damage if losing a life from drowning.
** Rayman's hair will keep spinning while climbing if the player performs the helicopter at the same time as touching the vine.
** There are no items besides a single cage. Breaking it and saving the bat ends the demo.
** The cage is added to the tally by punching it once, despite being unbroken. It cannot be further increased, even if the player resets the cage's health by moving far enough.
** Rayman has a victory animation for rescuing the bat, which can be combined to other animations such as climbing, jumping or the helicopter.
** In the files, various unused assets can be found, such as an alternate map of the level featuring a bigger tree and different vine, unique screens and animations, and a Ting tally going up to 3 with numbers above 1 being painted in red.

pl:Lista wersji demo gier z serii Rayman

Latest revision as of 15:41, 22 May 2026

What follows is a list of every Rayman demo available and the content they include.

The list does not include developer builds (like prototypes) and unpublic demos (like press demos). Repeated names are in fact different demos.

(?) means that this disc includes an existing but unchecked demo.

Sony PlayStation

Rayman

  • Availability:
    • Japanese DemoDemo PlayStation Vol. 3
  • Content:
  • Notable differences:
    • The world map is the same as from the Atari Jaguar beta version with an Electoon moving on the map. There is also a point on the giant, floating present, although it can't be accessed.
    • In the files, Band Land is referred to as Chromatic Skies and Picture City as Image City—almost literal translations of the original French names Le Ciel Chromatique and La Cité des Images.
    • Early loading screen images are used. The one for the Blue Mountains shows Mr Stone throwing the boulder at Rayman.
    • Early sequenced music is used.
    • When falling from high places Rayman will appear stunned.
    • The lives counter displays a single digit.
    • Rather than getting Electoon markers on a medallion upon breaking a cage the player now has to collect the Electoons from it with a separate counter being available for that, replacing the tings.
    • The Big Powers use an incorrect palette for parts of their animation.

  • Notes:
    • After the end of the time limit, the blur effect appears and after a while, the Rayman 3 ad shows up, then the demo ends.
    • Bug (works only in Special Invaders): If the auto-played demo will be ended (by pressing a button) at the moment when Rayman uses the power-ups, his skin will be permanently changed to Laser-Washing Powder suit, until the level ends (it is possible to get this effect with Vortex, Lockjaw and Shock Rocket).

Rayman (Game Boy Color)

  • Availability:
    • ?
  • Content:
  • Notable differences:
    • The demo starts with a short tutorial, telling the player how to play and instructing them to free Rayman's friends, who are depicted as bats.
    • The game features a unique Game Boy Color interface, with control instructions being provided to the player if they hover their mouse cursor over the buttons.
    • The Flash demo takes place in a short unique level set in the Spellbound Forest where the player is tasked to rescue a friendly bat from a cage.
    • The demo controls differently and Rayman starts with the helicopter power. Rayman's animations appear changed as well.
    • The music is a short loop of the Spellbound Forest's music.
    • Rayman starts with one extra life, but cannot get a game over even with no life left.
    • Rayman can only take damage by falling from the vine or the tree, or by jumping into the tree while on the ground, which subtracts two hearts from his health. This damage can be prevented by pressing down while on the bottom of the vine.
    • Rayman will retain his current damage if losing a life from drowning.
    • Rayman's hair will keep spinning while climbing if the player performs the helicopter at the same time as touching the vine.
    • There are no items besides a single cage. Breaking it and saving the bat ends the demo.
    • The cage is added to the tally by punching it once, despite being unbroken. It cannot be further increased, even if the player resets the cage's health by moving far enough.
    • Rayman has a victory animation for rescuing the bat, which can be combined to other animations such as climbing, jumping or the helicopter.
    • In the files, various unused assets can be found, such as an alternate map of the level featuring a bigger tree and different vine, unique screens and animations, and a Ting tally going up to 3 with numbers above 1 being painted in red.
