This article is about the playable character in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. For other characters with similar names, see Dark Rayman.

Raymesis, also known as DarkRay,^[1] Dark Rayman,^[2] and Rayman Alter Ego^[3] is a playable character in Rayman Origins, Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Legends, Rayman Fiesta Run, Rayman Adventures, Rayman Mini, and Rayman: The Board Game. His name is a portmanteau of “Rayman” and “nemesis”.

Description

Raymesis' appearance is very similar to that of Rayman, but with different colouration. He has glowing yellow eyes, a purple tongue, purple-grey skin, purple hair, cyan hood and shoes, light blue gloves, and a dark blue shirt. From Rayman Legends onwards, his eyes are orange, except in duck form, in which they are yellow like in Rayman Origins.

Raymesis appears in Rayman Origins as a playable character. To unlock him, 220 cages' worth of Electoons are required. In the 3DS version, 150 Electoons are required.

The Bubble Dreamer suggests that he was created by Mr Dark – this is one of the game's few references to the original Rayman antagonist. It is unclear whether the Bubble Dreamer confuses Raymesis with Bad Rayman or simply makes a joke about their resemblance (he looks almost identical to Rayman's evil clone created by Mr Dark in the original game), or if the two are linked in some other way, even them being the same character. In the Nintendo 3DS version, he also refers to Raymesis as DarkRay:

Raymesis in Rayman Origins

Rayman Jungle Run

Raymesis is part of the three characters available in the downloadable content of Rayman Jungle Run, along with Globox and Raybox. He is called "Dark Rayman" in this game.

Rayman Legends

In attempt to tarnish Rayman's reputation, Raymesis dresses like him and stalks the Glade of Dreams smashing things! A desperate case in need of serious anger management.

Raymesis returns as a playable character in Rayman Legends.

This is where his name is revealed, as well as the fact that he is a member of Rayman's species who wants to ruin Rayman's reputation.

Rayman Fiesta Run

Raymesis is also a playable character in Rayman Fiesta Run.

An image of him can be obtained in the gallery. It calls him 'Rayman Alter Ego', while he is named 'Dark Rayman' in the game files.

Rayman Adventures

Raymesis returns in Rayman Adventures and can be purchased for 500 gems.

Rayman Mini

In Rayman Mini he is unlocked for 6 electoons.

Rayman: The Board Game

Raymesis is set to appear as a playable character in Rayman: The Board Game. He is included in the set of 10 skins as an alternate skin for Rayman. He also appears on the Additional "Nifty" Action card. Notably, his figure includes a new guitar for him.

Brawlhalla

He stops at nothing to soil Rayman's reputation.

Raymesis appears as a skin for Rayman in the fighting game Brawlhalla. He was introduced in patch 3.32 and can be purchased for 140 Mammoth Coins. He fights with the Psychlops Gauntlets and the Devious Axe.
