Flying pirates[1] are the most common pirates in Picture City. They are averagely resistant enemies who look like extraterrestrials in astronaut suits, flying on a frying pan. When Rayman is in sight, they start following him, but it is sometimes possible to let them overtake him. They are usually lurking from a height, and Rayman is supposed to run away from them.
They exist in two types: they look either like the ring pirate or the bomb pirate from Space Mama's crew. They both wear the same suit and have the same behaviour. Both types return in Rayman Designer where they can be made to go either to the right or to the left.
