Lava rocks are items that appear in the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior, Rayman Designer, the Game Boy Color version of Rayman, Rayman Origins and the Back to Origins mode in Rayman Legends.
In Rayman and its spin-offs
Lava rocks are found in the Blue Mountains and the Caves of Skops. They are either found alone or thrown by stone men. They hurt Rayman and can explode if they hit the ground with a certain speed or if they are punched by Rayman. Once they explode, the scattered remains of the rock fly away in all directions from the rock, damaging Rayman on impact.

In Rayman Designer
In Rayman Designer, the lava rocks can be found in the Mountain and Cave worlds as enemy events. They come in two types: the Small bounce lava rock (titled Small-jump lava rock in the Cave world) and Big bounce lava rock (titled Large-jump lava rock in the Cave world) with the only difference being how fast they bounce. They can also be thrown by certain types of stone men.

In the Game Boy Color version of Rayman
In this game, lava rocks are found in Fiery Depths. They only appear in the air, and are not thrown by stone men, who do not appear in this level. They hurt Rayman on contact but cannot explode, unlike the ones from the original Rayman. While Rayman cannot destroy lava rocks in this game, most of them will disappear when falling out of a platform or going off-screen, but a few can reappear afterwards. They can be found stuck bouncing continuously in some areas or falling down a slope.

In Rayman Origins
In Rayman Origins, lava rocks return with the same behaviour as they did in their previous appearances, although they can only be found in Mystical Pique being thrown by stone men.
