The bullets changed significantly in Rayman Origins. Their look went from a mallet-wielding hammer to a blue/red live bullet. The blue live bullet is less dangerous; it only moves horizontal and it can be used as if it was a platform to reach higher places. But the more dangerous red live bullet cannot be used like that; it acts like a homing missile and follows the players, unlike the blue live bullet. It is possible to destroy these bullets, by the standard of defeating enemies in the game and by shooting projectiles from the mosquitoes.

The live bullets reappear in Rayman Legends. The Armored Toad shoots groups of orange and red bullets during the battle against the heroes. The orange bullets only move in one direction while the red bullets act like homing missiles.
The red bullets also appear in some parts of 20,000 Lums Under the Sea, as well as blue bullets. They can be found from being shot out in small devices against the pipes. The blue bullets share the same behavior as the orange bullets.

Bullets, also known as balls, are items that appear in several games of the Rayman series. They are seen in the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior, Rayman Designer, and the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids. The hunters' projectiles are the bullets.

In Rayman and its spin-offs

In the original Rayman game, a bullet appears when a hunter shoots his gun from spotting Rayman. They can't be defeated, so Rayman has to either jump or duck to avoid getting hit. The speed of the bullets are relatively slow, but their range is wide; Rayman is likely to get hurt if he doesn't react to them.

In the Atari Jaguar version, when a bullet is shot, the hammer doesn't appear until after a couple seconds. This is the only version where that happens.

In Rayman Designer

Along with the hunters, the bullets return as an enemy event in Rayman Designer. They are known in the game as Balls. There's a new hunter in the game that shoots a bullet that goes up, then comes down, making it more difficult for Rayman to avoid it. This new bullet is not separate as an enemy event, only the horizontal one can be chosen. The speed of the bullets are slower than they were in the original Rayman game.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids

A bullet, as seen in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids.

The bullets, like the hunters, return in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids. They behave the same way as they do in the original Rayman game.
