Wrong note
Notes are enemies that are present throughout Band Land in different forms, but all of them hurt Rayman. In musical terminology, the regular variety correspond to eighth notes or "quavers".

Moving notes
Moving notes are invincible enemies that appear in the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior and Rayman Designer. They slide on musical staves, patrolling on a certain area and regularly opening their mouth. Even though they can't be beaten, their small size and their basic behaviour makes them quite easy to dodge, provided Rayman isn't sliding too quickly, so that he doesn't get surprised.
In Rayman Designer, there are two types of notes, simply titled Note 1 and Note 2. The only difference between them is how they react to types on the map.
-
A moving note, as it appears in the original Rayman game.
-
A moving note opening its mouth.
Mr Sax's notes
Mr Sax's main attacks consist in blowing notes of different kinds at Rayman.
The first type looks exactly like moving notes, except that one hit is enough to throw them back to the sender. He can even blow three of them at a time. They can also be found on Rayman's way when he is pursued by Mr Sax: in this case, they float in the air, and punching them will send them at him.
-
Mr Sax blowing out a note.
The second type are round notes which explode in the air and free eight tiny invincible wrong notes in the shape of the first type. Mr Sax can blow two of them at the same time, making it much harder to dodge the outgoing tiny notes and prevent them dealing damage to Rayman.
Just as the regular notes correspond to quavers, this variety corresponds to the whole note or semibreve (as it bursts into 8 eighth notes).
-
Mr Sax blowing out a fragmentation note.
-
A fragmentation note exploding.
-
Tiny notes appear after the fragmentation note explodes.
The third type, called explosive notes, follow a curved trajectory and explode on the ground. They're the same shape as the second type.
-
Mr Sax blowing out an explosive note.
-
The effect of an explosive note.
Coloured notes
Coloured notes are found throughout Band Land in the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior and Rayman Designer. They can't move and all Rayman can do is avoid them. They're much larger than the other types, except for the tiny ones that can be found in Rayman Junior.
In Rayman Designer, these types appear in the map editor.
-
The notes are sharp.
-
Tiny notes from Rayman Junior.
