Moving wrong notes are invincible enemies that appear in the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior and Rayman Designer. They slide on musical staves, patrolling on preset areas and regularly opening their mouths. Even though they cannot be beaten, their small size and their basic behaviour makes them quite easy to dodge, provided Rayman is sliding at a slow enough pace, so as not to get surprised by them.

In Rayman Designer, there are two types of notes, simply titled Note 1 and Note 2. The only difference between them is how they react to types on the map.

In the Game Boy Color version of the original game, moving wrong notes have a similar aspect, but instead of sliding on musical staves, they bounce around and open their mouths at regular intervals.

Mr Sax's wrong notes

Mr Sax's various attacks consist in blowing notes of different types at Rayman.

Notes of the first type look exactly like moving notes, except that one hit is enough to throw them back to the sender. Mr Sax can blow up to three of them at a time. They can also be found on Rayman's way when he is pursued by Mr Sax: in this case, they float in the air, and punching them will send them at the boss.

Notes of the second type, called fragmentation notes, are round notes which explode in the air and free eight tiny invincible wrong notes, looking similar in appearance to notes of the first type, which then spread outwards. Mr Sax can blow up to three of them at the same time, making it much harder to dodge the tiny notes.

Just as the regular notes correspond to quavers, this variety corresponds to the whole note or semibreve (as it bursts into 8 eighth notes).

Notes of the third type, called explosive notes, follow a curved trajectory and explode on the ground. They are the same shape and size as notes of the second type.
