Red Globox is a playable character in Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends, Rayman Fiesta Run, Rayman Adventures and Rayman Mini. Before the events of Rayman 2, and even possibly before knowing Rayman, Globox was a Vubooduboo-practicing (translated from the language game Ubbi Dubbi to "voodoo-practicing") Red Wizard with red skin. Nobody in the Glade of Dreams seems to know what really happened to Globox when he became blue; while the other Red Wizards of his clan whisper rumours about him being poisoned by venomous bubeastietubbis (translated from the language game Ubbi Dubbi to "beasties"), the Teensies believe that his colour chance was produced by excess of plum juice. The artbook The Art of Rayman Origins seem to corroborate the former version: while he was eating some berries from a bush, Globox confused a blue mosquito's eye for a berry, and after failed attempts to take the eye, he swallowed the mosquito whole. Once inside Globox's body, the mosquito buzzed noisily for help, and immediately a swarm of blue mosquitoes appeared to sting Globox, leaving him with several blue welts, which eventually became part of his skin. This story is later reused in the PlayStation Vita version of Rayman Origins as a mosaic puzzle, where it is obtained by collecting relics in the game. The story is also referenced in his description in Rayman Mini.

In the PlayStation commercial of Rayman 2, a red Globox can be seen, weirdly, bearing a Robo-Pirate symbol on his belly. This may be a grown-up version of Catastrox, a red Baby Globox that sometimes claims allegiance to the Robo-Pirates, but this is not confirmed.

Description

Red Globox is Globox, but with red skin instead of blue. It is unknown whether he is a younger, a cured, or just a disguised version of Globox.

Role in the games

Rayman Origins

Globox? Red?! Are you a ghost? Did the voodoo mammas find a cure for your blues? Hee hee hee! Now that you're incognito...go crazy! Let's go Lums chasing when I'm done meditating!

In Rayman Origins he is unlocked at the Snoring Tree when 8 Electoon cages are collected. In the 3DS version, 100 Electoons are required.

Rayman Legends

Once Globox's original color, but he turned blue due to a misadventure involving fruit picking and bees.
—In-game description, Rayman Legends, Rayman Adventures

In Rayman Legends he is unlocked after having collected 9000 Lums in the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions and 14 000 Lums in the Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions.

Rayman Fiesta Run

In Rayman Fiesta Run he can be purchased for 900 Lums.

Rayman Adventures

In Rayman Adventures he can be purchased for 150 gems.

Rayman Mini

Once Globox's original color, but he turned blue due to a misadventure involving a blue mosquito's eye and its similarity to a berry. Oh well, they say blue-ty is in the eye of the beholder.
—In-game description, Rayman Mini

In Rayman Mini he is unlocked for 9 electoons. His description in this game is significantly more accurate than the one seen in Rayman Legends and Rayman Adventures.

Rayman: The Board Game

While Red Globox does not appear as a playable character in Rayman: The Board Game, he does appear on the Additional "Angry In Flight" Action card.
