Golden Fists, also known as Gold Fists and the gold punch, are power-ups that appear in the original Rayman game, its spin-offs and its Game Boy Color adaptation. They look like glowing yellow fists and make Rayman's telescopic fist stronger, so that he can get rid of his enemies more easily.

Golden Fists are replaced by Power Fists in Rayman 2, the Heavy Metal Fist in Rayman 3 and the Flying Punch in the UbiArt games.

Appearances

Rayman

A Golden Fist
Increases the power of Rayman's blows.

Please note:
Your fist loses its power and its exceptional speed each time you are hit by an enemy.

In the original Rayman game, Golden Fists increase the damage dealt by Rayman's telescopic fist: standard punches inflict 3 hit points instead of 1, charged punches inflict from 3 to 6 hit points instead of 1 to 4, and punches when jumping inflict 5 hit points instead of 3. This, however, does not apply to bosses, who only suffer one damage per punch in any case.

If Rayman loses a life, their effect will vanish. In the Jaguar version of the game, this also happens when taking damage.

The Game Boy Color version of Rayman

Faster and stronger than the normal one but it loses its power every time Rayman loses one life

The power-up also appears in the Game Boy Color version of the original Rayman game, where it is known as the Gold Fist. In this game, the Gold Fist not only increases the power of Rayman's telescopic fist, but also allows it to go further, similarly to the Speed Fist. With a Gold Fist, all punches inflict 2 hit points, irrespective of whether they are charged or not, instead of 1 hit point for a standard punch and 2 for a charged punch.

Just like in the original Rayman game, if Rayman loses a life, its effect will vanish.
