Rayman using the Lockjaw on a flying hook.

Flying hooks are metallic objects hovering in the air by a propeller. With the Lockjaw, Rayman can grab onto them and reach otherwise inaccessible places. They replace flying rings in the original Rayman game and Purple Lums in Rayman 2. Swingmen and other objects replicate the flying hooks' swinging function in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.

Flying hooks are first encountered in Clearleaf Forest, where Rayman is introduced to the Lockjaw Laser-Washing Powder. They are since seen throughout the rest of the game.

Flying rings are remodeled in the Game Boy Advance versions of Rayman 3 and Rayman Raving Rabbids; instead of looking like flying metal rings, they look like metal crowns on top of small semicircular hoops. Rayman can swing on these without the aid of the Lockjaw.
