I'm not sure I understand, is it just that the sprites are still present in the Rayman Mini game files? They could simply have forgotten to delete them and it does not necessarily indicate that the tricky treasures were meant for inclusion at some point. Either way, please clarify.

A Tricky Treasure.

Tricky Treasures are chest-like creatures that appear in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. They guard Skull Teeth (in Rayman Legends, they are replaced by Teensies) inside their bodies, and to unlock the levels where they hide, the Flaming Teensy tells the heroes to find a certain number of Electoons. Finding all of the Tricky Treasures is necessary to reach the Land of the Livid Dead.

All of the Tricky Treasures are red, with one single eye (in Rayman Legends, the eye does not appear) and golden ornamental snake-like designs around their bodies (most notably, a pair of horns). They have in the frontal part of their bodies a small golden picture of two snakes tied. Even when they don't appear to move much with their small legs, they can run very fast.

List of Tricky Treasure levels

There are a total of 10 Tricky Treasures to break open in Rayman Origins, lowered to 5 in Rayman Legends. At the start of each Tricky Treasure level, when the heroes come close to a Tricky Treasure, it starts imagining what's going to happen (a doodle of Rayman punching the doodle of a chest appears), and fearfully runs away. The heroes must run after it to finally break it at the end of the path and claim the reward inside. The Tricky Treasure levels feature some of the most challenging levels in the game, as the heroes must run through almost random obstacles, such as dangerous spiky elements, strong winds, collapsing platforms, enemies and pits. With the exception of the Land of the Livid Dead, every world has a Tricky Treasure level.
