Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, | Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, who is blue-green in colour, with a pale yellow belly and hands. While the rest of his body is fat and heavy, he has long thin arms. His webbed feet and small eyes float separately from his body. He is noticeably taller than most of the inhabitants of the Glade, with the exception of such characters as Ly the Fairy and Clark the Giant. Globox has an extremely large mouth with a long purple tongue, he often uses it to store things such as Silver Lums, and, accidentally, André. His children have the same ability, as was shown late in the events of Rayman 2; one of his sons swallowed the fourth Mask of Polokus after finding it in the Iron Mountains (the Pirate Mines in Rayman Revolution), then he gave the mask to Rayman, once the latter had freed him and his siblings from the Spyglass Pirate's Robot Dinosaur.
In the Japanese version of Rayman Revolution, Globox's appearance was changed to suit the preferences of the Japanese market. He is scaleless and his mouth is completely pink.
Globox used to be red, but one day while he was eating berries, he mistook a blue mosquito for a berry, and ate it. From inside Globox's belly, the insect called for help, and hundreds of other blue mosquitoes came to sting Globox. When they left him, Globox's red skin was covered in painful blue welts. These eventually seeped into his skin, turning it blue.
In Rayman Adventures, along with Rayman and Barbara, Globox sports a new adventurer outfit. He wears a sleeveless green coat over a buttoned white shirt, with the top unbuttoned. He also wears a small brown satchel, gray pants held up by a brown belt with a gold buckle, and brown shoes. | In Rayman Adventures, along with Rayman and Barbara, Globox sports a new adventurer outfit. Unfortunately, he is allergic to plum juice; when André was inside his stomach, he would force Globox to drink some, then it would have various effects on Globox, such as getting drunk, and burping out giant bouncy bubbles. While under the influence of plum juice in Clearleaf Forest, Globox realises that he can swim, and even manages to swim up an entire waterfall while avoiding piranhas. Plum juice can also give him an ability to fly, or float, into the air, allowing him to avoid such terrains in Rayman 3 that would prove difficult. This was most likely to have been inspired by this hovering technique in Rayman M, it also may be the inspiration for characters getting bubblized in Rayman Origins. In the UbiArt games, and all versions of Rayman M, it is suggested that Globox can run as fast as the others, despite his weight, but elsewhere he tends to walk slowly in a nervous state. In Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends, Globox can use the ability to glide without inflating and just by flapping his arms in the air.
Globox has the | Globox also has the ability to form rainclouds, albeit small ones that draw enough rain to either grow a plant quickly, put out fires, or rust a Robo-Pirate in self defence. Most other species would need to use a Rain Mask, which one of Globox's children gives to Rayman at the Pirate Mines in Rayman Revolution.

Having been captured at least once in Rayman 2, he has grown an irrational fear of the Robo-Pirates, and often when he senses that they are near, he will run away and hide (notable in the Canopy), until he is sure that Rayman had destroyed them all. Similarly, he displays this fear in Rayman 3, this time of the Hoodlums and their attacks, unless he is under the influence of plum juice.

He was originally named "Globber", a name that has now been passed on to one of his children in order to rename himself. Together with his wife, Uglette, he is the proud father of at least 650 small children. In Rayman Revolution, it was revealed that he and his family live in a tree house near the Canopy, though in the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, they live in a secret location hidden in the Woods of Light, named Globox Village.

When the Robo-Pirates invade the Glade of Dreams, Rayman and Globox, along with their friends, join forces in rebellion against the enemy. One day, the heroes travel to the Great Forest to ambush the pirates. Globox helps by causing pirates to rest with his Rain Dance. Rayman praises his efforts, but loses his powers when the pirates destroy the Heart of the World, and is soon captures. This leaves Globox with no choice but to flee in hopes that he might find Ly the Fairy and ask for further instructions. Ly gives Globox a Silver Lum, and instructs him to surrender himself to the pirates.

Rayman smashes a metal grate covering an air vent, and together, he and Globox go down the chute. However, Globox knocks Rayman off the edge, and they become separated. When Rayman lands in the Woods of Light, he meets three baby Globoxes, and admits to them that he was separated from their father. Later, in the Marshes of Awakening, Rayman meets Ssssam, who informs him that Globox has been recaptured by the pirates and taken beyond the Marshes.
[[ | When Rayman reaches the Canopy, he finds Globox imprisoned in a laser holding cell, near a sign referring to him as 'Public Enemy #2'. Rayman frees Globox, who joins him for the remainder of the level. He puts his Rain Dance to good use, growing helpful plants, putting out fires and short-circuiting electric laser fences. However, upon the sight of a warship, Globox runs back the way they came into a cave. Rayman goes back to reassure his friend that there's nothing to be scared of, and then, Globox remembers to give him a Silver Lum which upgrades the power of his magic fist. At the end of the level, Globox takes leave of Rayman, insisting that he must go and find his wife, Uglette.
[[ | Unfortunately, Globox gets captured again near the end of the game when the pirates enslave his children. Later, he is used used as live bait to lure Rayman to the Crow's Nest. Before Razorbeard can kill Globox, Rayman shows up and the heroes get shot, but the shot misses and hits the pole that hangs Globox upside down. Despite that, Globox he insists that Rayman should carry on fighting the Grolgoth rather than worrying about him. It is unknown how he got down after the Crow's Nest fell apart, but whatever happens, he ends up back on the ground safely by the time he and his friends mourn their hero after the Buccaneer explodes, until Rayman turns up alive.

In Rayman 3, Globox remains physically similar to his original appearance, though had become a comedic sidekick for this next appearance. Globox plays a major plot role, having accidentally swallowed André and having to find a doctor who would find a way to remove André from Globox during the first half of the game. During this time, Globox is forced by André to drink plum juice, despite his allergies, and during a somewhat drunken state he gains special abilities for short periods of time that are needed to progress Rayman through the game or move Globox forward through the level (by floating). Through the second half he plays a lesser role, though tends to follow Rayman on their journey, occasionally bringing up the odd surprise. He is notably voice acted by actor John Leguizamo.

As in the main version of the game he swallows a Black Lum, although the circumstances surrounding this are not explored, except for the fact that he did it to save the Teensies. He then runs away from Rayman, unable to keep still, and Rayman spends the rest of the game looking for him. At some point, Globox is captured by Admiral Razorbeard and the Robo-Pirates, who are looking for the Black Lum. Rayman breaks into the Pirate Stronghold and saves him, at which point he spits out the Black Lum and all is well. Rayman and Globox then return to the Baby Globoxes, where Globox tells a story that implies it was all because of him that the Black Lum was defeated. When Rayman complains, Globox admits that Rayman "did help a bit", to which Rayman replies "Thanks pa, we knew you could do it".

In Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, Globox follows Rayman through much of the game, similar to Rayman 3. Globox is also a playable character in some levels. Oftentimes there will be a puzzle-like sequence of events that requires the player to use both Rayman and Globox to move forward in the level. They must reach the exit together to complete the stage, as they will refuse to finish the level without the other. As André has been consumed once more, Globox can use the effects of plum juice to do certain things to move on in the stage, such as breaking metal bars. Without plum juice, he will get scared if a Hoodlum is too close to him, but with it, he can move slightly faster and defeat enemies in one hit with a slap. Since he is unable to jump, he needs help to reach an alternate path. Globox cannot die by falling into lava or water or get killed by enemies, since he will run from them without plum juice. He does not have a health bar of his own, meaning that a Game Over only happens if Rayman dies.
Within the game's story, Globox goes missing when he begins to have bad dreams about swallowing André. He is captured first by the Hoodlums, managing to save himself, and then by Bégoniax, from whom he is rescued by Rayman.
[[ | Rayman and Globox then go on a mission to stop the Hoodlums creating a cloned Reflux, however it is eventually revealed that André has taken over the body of Globox, having left part of his spirit inside when he was previously swallowed. André takes off in Globox's body, causing Rayman to pursue him. Rayman eventually defeats the cloned Reflux, freeing Globox from André's control in the process, and the two heroes go home, with Rayman commenting that they "make a pretty good team".

Always up for a little fooding, fighting, and power-napping − and always in good spirits − Globox is second to none when it comes to romping, bouncing, and bubble-ising baddies. The mystery surrounding how the Glade’s all-time undefeated champion snoozer became blue is a matter of some speculation among the magic peoples. The other Red Wizards of his Vubooduboo-practising clan whisper of venomous bubeastietubbis, while the Teensies favor an epic tale of high-comedy featuring Globox’s fondness for sacred plum juice.

The trailer shows Rayman's first meeting with Globox, prior to the events of the original Rayman game. It is said that Globox is Rayman's ‘double, his blood brother, his id’. Origins reveals that Globox is one of a group of beings known as the Red Wizards; like the other wizards, Globox was originally red, but he turned blue after being attacked by blue mosquitoes involving a berry picking incident. Red Globox is also an unlockable character in Origins. Globox can glide by flapping his arms, unlike in earlier games when he had to inflate in order to 'float'. Origins is also the first game where Globox has the ability to fight enemies. For some odd reason, the Bubble Dreamer claims that Globox is, or has, the "biggest glute in the Glade" when that name was used in reference to bird-like creatures that only physically appeared in the beta of Rayman 3. This has led to the common misconception that the glutes and Globox's species are one and the same. This misconception has even made its way into the book L'Histoire de Rayman, which refers to both Globox and the Bubble Dreamer as glutes. In reality, however, it is more likely that the Bubble Dreamer is literally referring to Globox’s glutes, which are a group of muscles that make up the buttocks (meaning that he would essentially be claiming that Globox has the biggest butt in the Glade).

Globox is a major character in the Rayman series, second only to Rayman himself in his prominence. Globox acts as a major ally in Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, and is a playable character in Rayman M, Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends, Rayman Adventures, Rayman Mini, and Rayman: The Board Game. He is Rayman's best friend and has been since before the events of Rayman 2.
Description
Appearance
Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, who is blue-green in colour, with a pale yellow belly and hands.
In the Japanese version of Rayman Revolution, Globox's appearance was changed to suit the preferences of the Japanese market.[1] He is scaleless and his mouth is completely pink.

Globox was originally a member of the Red Wizard clan, only becoming blue when attacked by a swarm of blue mosquitoes.
Abilities
Physically, Globox is quite strong, and provided that he has the confidence too (under the influence of plum juice in Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge), he can inflict a strong blow on enemies, namely Hoodlums.
Globox also has the ability to form rainclouds, albeit small ones that draw enough rain to either grow a plant quickly, put out fires, or rust a Robo-Pirate in self defence. Most other species would need to use a Rain Mask, which one of Globox's children gives to Rayman at the Pirate Mines in Rayman Revolution.
Personality
Globox is generally a warm and friendly character and a proud father of more than 650 children, though simple and very shy.
In Rayman 2, Globox speaks in broken English and has a deep voice, but in Rayman 3, his English has improved and his voice has attained a higher pitch.
Globox's personality changes between Rayman 2, Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. While he remains Rayman's daft sidekick in these games, in Rayman 2 he is portrayed as a dim but loveable and well-meaning character, whereas in Rayman 3 he seems more articulate but less intelligent, and acts rude at times. While very cowardly in Rayman 2, in Globox can become very rash while under the influence of plum juice in Rayman 3, yelling drunken taunts at the Hoodlums and sometimes standing defiantly in their line of fire (though he is never hurt by this). In Rayman Origins, his personality changes almost completely, acting more dimwitted, cheerful, and no longer cowardly.
Biography
Globox and his family were created by Polokus as part of the non-magical People, as a result of the spirit's sense of humour.
During the early production of Rayman 2, Globox originally had 35 sons and one of them was named Globs.[2]
In Rayman 2
After, came the adorable Globox and his family. Aren't they cute? The wise sages don't know what Polokus had in mind when creating them, but he truly used his sense of humour for inspiration.
Adorable, if a little simple, Globox is Rayman’s best friend. He has the power to create forceful little rain storms which can be used to put out fires or make plants grow. With the aid of his mate Uglette, he has produced a prodigious family: more than 650 children at the last count!—Manual, Rayman 2
Globox makes his first appearance in Rayman 2. His story, which begins before the game starts, is detailed in the game's manual.
The game opens in the Buccaneer, as Globox is thrown into the same cell as Rayman. Globox gives him the Silver Lum he received from Ly, which allows Rayman to shoot with his magic fist.
When Rayman reaches the Canopy, he finds Globox imprisoned in a laser holding cell, near a sign referring to him as 'Public Enemy #2'.
Unfortunately, Globox gets captured again near the end of the game when the pirates enslave his children. As explained by a crying Uglette, he tried to fight them to protect his family, but he got overwhelmed and taken as prisoner.

In Rayman 2 Forever
Globox appears in Rayman 2 Forever, the Game Boy Color version of Rayman 2, although his role is drastically decreased. He is still captured at the start of the game and gives Rayman the Silver Lum, however he does not appear again until the end, where he has a cameo appearance celebrating Rayman's victory.
In Rayman Revolution
Though Globox's role in Rayman Revolution is similar to that in Rayman 2, a few new elements were added. In Revolution, Globox does not grant Rayman the ability to shoot his magic fist, but instead simply allows Rayman to punch. Globox's house, children, and relation with Uglette are depicted in a larger scale; one of his daughters is an important character later in the game, Uglette is constantly seen worrying about Globox, and his cliffside house's acres of land are the setting for the middle third of the game. Globox joins Rayman on a few occasions in a fashion similar to Clark or Globox's role in Rayman 3. Globox must be taken past Whale Bay to use his Rain Dance so as to enable entry to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire.

Globox is one of the five playable characters that are initially available in Rayman M, Rayman Arena and Rayman Rush.
The manual for the GameCube and Xbox versions of Rayman Arena offers the following description of Globox:
Profession: Model Father.
Likes: Sleeping under trees, playing with his boys, and rock music.
Dislikes: Danger, being woken up suddently by Tily, and journeys across the world.

In Rayman 3
Rayman’s best friend has at last got the role of his life: not only does he mistakenly swallow André, the chief of the black Lums, but he’s also chased by the Hoodlum army, who’re trying to get their boss back. A real character part!—Manual (UK version), Rayman 3
Rayman's ever-faithful partner, the bumbling Globox, incurred the Hoodlums' wrath when he swallowed their almighty leader, the Dark Lum Lord. Fortunately, this rotund sidekick's belly is the ideal prison to keep the Lum Lord at bay. There's just one catch - Globox needs plum juice to quell the Lum Lord's tantrums, and will risk blowing the whole adventure just for a keg of foamy plum goodness.—Manual (US version), Rayman 3

In the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3
In the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3, Globox is only seen in the introduction and ending scenes.

In Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
This guy is big! Really big! Unfortunately, he doesn't know what "big" means. All he knows is that "Shadows are scary" and Rayman is his best friend. His simple life got a lot more complicated when he swallowed the Dark Lum André. Now he's got a talking tummy ache and a desperate yearning for Plum juice, which makes him go berserk!—Manual, Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
Rayman and Globox then go on a mission to stop the Hoodlums creating a cloned Reflux, however it is eventually revealed that André has taken over the body of Globox, having left part of his spirit inside when he was previously swallowed. André takes off in Globox's body, causing Rayman to pursue him. Rayman eventually defeats the cloned Reflux, freeing Globox from André's control in the process, and the two heroes go home, with Rayman commenting that they "make a pretty good team".

In Rayman Kart
Globox makes an appearance as a playable character in Rayman Kart. He is unlocked from the start and his special power is to drop three baby Globoxes on the track.
In Rayman Origins
A quiet force within the Glade, Globox is never to be underestimated. Always ready to lend a hand to his friends and adversaries alike, his mastery of Fung-Ku and etiquette comes down to the classic Gimme Five move, a solid smack that can knock you right out of your boxer shorts! This glorious goober* is, nevertheless, everything you could want in a friend.
- Goober is a term of endearment that comes from the ancient Gladeish verb “to goub,” which involves dancing while smiling sheepishly, exposing 'the goubs' in one's teeth.
—Manual, Rayman Origins
The one and only Globox! Biggest glute in the Glade! Champion of snoring songs; you honor me with your noisy naps! Not sure the neighbors are so psyched.. Livid Dead have no taste in music! Tickle them to death!
Globox next appears in Rayman Origins. This misconception has even made its way into the book L'Histoire de Rayman, which refers to both Globox and the Bubble Dreamer as glutes.[3] In reality, however, it is more likely that the Bubble Dreamer is literally referring to Globox’s glutes, which are a group of muscles that make up the buttocks (meaning that he would essentially be claiming that Globox has the biggest butt in the Glade).

He is considered an "Epic Crossover Skin," just like Barbara. Globox comes with signature FX swaps, Legend Name and icon swaps, custom Lock-In animation, and two weapon skins which include two giant mosquitoes which Globox uses as guns as well as Selena's sword which is called the Selena Smasher here. Globox can be purchased for 300 Mammoth Coins.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Globox is Rayman's best friend, but Globox's best friends might be food. He's always hungry, but still he tries his best to catch up by running and jumping through unknown terrain. He excels at jumping, probably thanks to his froggy likeness, but he can also fly by flapping his arms. I guess anything's possible in the Glade of Dreams.—Trophy's description, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (NTSC version)
Sadly for Rayman, Globox's very best friend is actually his lunch. Being hungry all the time doesn't stop him [sic] working hard. Globox is a great jumper, and a great flier, too! After all, anything's possible in the Glade of Dreams! Time to start thinking outside the...Glo-box.—Trophy's description, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (PAL version)
