A bongo is a type of drum which appears in the original Rayman game and its spinoffs, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends.

In Rayman 1 and its spinoffs

In the original Rayman game, Rayman Junior and Rayman Designer, the bongo is small type of drum. Only found in Band Land, most of them float in the air, and start falling a split second after Rayman steps on them, making it vital to be quick. The others are held by Monks, who regularly swing them but never let them fall.

In Rayman Designer, there are several types of bongos which appear as events.

  • Bongo
  • Bongo left eye
  • Bongo right eye

In Rayman Origins

Bongos appear in Desert of Dijiridoos and Grumbling Grottos. Unlike the original Rayman game, most of them are much larger, and they no longer fall when stepped on. Instead, they are used to bounce on, similar to a trampoline.

In Rayman Legends

A large bongo, as seen in Skyward Sonata from the Back to Origins painting.

Bongos appear in the second world of the Back to Origins painting, Desert of Dijiridoos. They do the exact same thing in this game as they did in Rayman Origins.
